When you bake a cake, you start by measuring out all the ingredients.
In business we say that if we don’t measure it, we can’t manage it.
So let’s say we’re baking a cake. We measure things like butter, the flour, the sugar.
But how do you measure ingenuity? Improvisation? Blood, sweat and tears? The things that make a cake a winner?
Truth is, we can’t measure everything…at least not all the inputs. Some things…some things are just ambiguous. Let’s get good at affecting these ambiguous things, rather than wasting all our blood sweat and tears trying to measure them.
